Stephen Edlmann

Stephen is a former top-ranked leader of the capital markets and banking practices of Linklaters LLP. More recently he developed and began the implementation of Ashurst LLP’s worldwide debt capital markets strategy, as well as managing its Italian practice from Milan for 3 years. He has a handicapped son, now adult, who required special educational needs and as a result has retained an interest both in special educational needs as well as provision for the disabled at all stages of life.

Outside of law, from which he has retired, he currently serves as a member of the British Asian Trust’s Innovation and Finance sub-committee; as Senior Warden (Chair) of the King’s School (Bruton) Foundation and as Chairman of the Wells Cathedral Trust in Somerset. In the past he was a parent Governor at a Lambeth Council Primary School and at Finton House Preparatory School in London (both with Special Needs programmes); and as a Governor of Sherborne School for Boys.
