Allia C&C is proud to mark another significant milestone in the Scottish Government’s Charitable Bonds programme, with a further £43 million invested this year, bringing total 2025-26 investment to £78 million and cumulative investment in the programme to £585 million.
Allia C&C has administered the Charitable Bonds programme since its inception in 2014, structuring and delivering loan-based bonds to Registered Social Landlords across Scotland. The programme works by providing loans to housing associations, with interest on repayments reinvested directly into affordable housing – creating a self-reinforcing cycle of investment.
Over more than a decade, Allia C&C’s delivery of the programme has helped finance around 4,500 affordable homes and generated a further £176 million of additional investment. Working with the largest urban associations to the smallest rural providers – the programme has reached every corner of Scotland.
Peter Freer, Head of Scottish Office, Allia C&C, said: “The programme provides a unique and straightforward funding solution that has helped channel Scottish Government investment into much-needed new affordable homes across Scotland. As the need for good -quality affordable housing remains as pressing as ever, we very much hope the programme continues to go from strength to strength.”
